By the Power of the Holy Spirit

 2025 Theme SM Graphic Small

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 NAS

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:1-5 NAS

We are just one week from The National Day of Prayer and as we turn our attention to the final portion of our National Day of Prayer theme verse, Romans 15:13. we pray that you will be joining us in prayer at one of our National Day of Prayer gatherings in your community throughout the day and then at 8:00 p.m. ET on your favorite Christian television network or streaming from our website and social media.

As we have just celebrated Holy Week and Resurrection Sunday, we pray that you are filled with all joy and peace in believing and abounding in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:11 tells us the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us as followers of Jesus, and the Spirit gives us life. The Spirit’s work in us is experienced and expressed by the fruit of the Spirit throughout our lives as we submit every thought, decision, responsibility, opportunity, relationship, action; absolutely every aspect of our lives with nothing held back completely surrendered to the Lord’s will.

His power becomes our strength, wisdom, hope, courage; whatever is needed for us to accomplish all that God has authored for our lives, every purpose He has planned and good work He has prepared will be completed in His will and ways as we bow in prayer and allow the Spirit to work in us and through us. We don’t have to muster it up, fake it, or go searching for earthly temporary things to prop us up. Power beyond measure is always available to us from the Holy Spirit to the children of God. The Spirit helps us when we don’t even know how to pray, when words become tears, the Spirit will intercede for us according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27)

The Holy Spirit provides love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.(Gal. 5:22-23) Pause and ponder the areas of your life that may be lacking in one or more aspects of the Spirit’s fruit and take time to pray and surrender your emotions, your habits, any pride, anger, unforgiveness, or other obstacle in your life that keeps the Spirit from strengthening and completing you in that area of your life. Remember, we must surrender that space in our lives and invite God to be the Lord of every area of our lives not just our Savior after death to enter heaven. As Christians we confess our sin and profess our faith in Jesus and ask God to be our Lord and Savior as we commit to pray and live life for Him and His purposes while we are on earth knowing we will spend eternity with Him in heaven. Knowing that we could never accomplish this life on our own, our Everlasting Father has given us the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13) and we not only live by the Spirit but walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:25) Commit today to live your life abounding in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Will you please join me in prayer?

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Spirit to dwell in Your children. Remind us of the supernatural power who lives in us and all the Spirit provides when we submit our will to Your will filled with eternal heavenly purpose and prepared by Your heart and hands. Holy Spirit I surrender every area, moment and breath of my life to You. Thank You for Your promise to enable and equip me with perseverance that will bring about my proven character in Christ, and bring hope that never disappoints but brings power, and overflowing joy and peace to me and pours though me as I pour out my prayers to the God of hope. In the glorious name of our Savior we pray, Amen!

Serving Him with gladness,
