Glory Story: At Home and Among the Nations
Unified, Public Prayer in Huntington, Indiana Glorified God in Multiple Languages

The National Prayer is the highlight of unified prayer on the National Day of Prayer – Christians from the eastern shores of Maine to the western edges of the Hawaiian Islands lift up the same prayer, unified in the Holy Spirit as we intercede for our neighbors and nation.

Huntington, Indiana, experienced a powerful demonstration of unity in their gathering, as believers prayed a portion of the National Prayer in their heart languages of Dutch, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Portuguese! 

“This was amazing, to recognize that even our small rural county, in the rural state of Indiana, is influenced by many parts of the world, and we can have an influence on many parts of our world,” said NDP County Coordinator Karen Bennett.

After the National Prayer was prayed in English, prayer leaders prayed the last paragraph in their heart languages, highlighting the unity of believers in Christ, and truly living out the 2026 theme, Glorify God Among the Nations – Seeking Him in all Generations.

“It was inspiring to hear, one after another, praying the same prayer, and being so different in their language,” said Bennett. “We really liked the focus, with the focus on 250th and Glorifying God Among the Nations – we don’t have to go out on the international mission field; we can do that work in our own town!”

 This was only the third year that Bennett and her team of devoted intercessors have mobilized an NDP gathering in their community, and the second year they included an international prayer segment.

After a powerful response to the international prayer segment in 2025, they knew it would become a standing stone in their NDP gatherings year after year!

Bennett and her team reached out across Huntington to spiritually mature intercessors from various churches who were ready lift up prayer. The newest member of Bennett’s prayer team led prayer in Chinese – this intercessor has an incredible testimony of coming to faith in Jesus while in her home in mainland China, through a digital broadcast that was broadcasted from another nation. Her faith is growing rapidly as she enjoys freedom to pursue Jesus openly and is surrounded by believers in her new home here in America!

Those who led in prayer responded with joy and excitement at the opportunity to pray in agreement with believers across America in their heart language.

“All of them live here; it is appropriate because they are invested in the USA,” Bennett said.

Even though Bennett’s team has only hosted three National Day of Prayer gatherings, God is revealing that the community is hungry for more prayer – this year, Bennett and her team experienced double the prayer participation that they experienced in 2025! Truly, a double portion from the Lord!

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the movement of unity in the Holy Spirit in Huntington, Indiana, as the nations truly did glorify You on the National Day of Prayer! I rejoice in You Lord, for this community, and the thousands of others, who were unified in prayerful agreement for, and with, neighbors and our nation. I thank You for the ‘nations’ that are represented in Huntington, and my own community; give me eyes to see the brothers and sisters in Christ that You have brought into my community, and those that You have brought who don’t yet know Jesus as their Savior. Give me boldness to engage with them in love, and to share the truth of the Gospel with joy. In these moments of unity Lord, I praise You for the glimpses You give us of eternity with You where You will be glorified forever by every nation, tribe, people, and language, just as John described in Revelation. Thank You that I get to stand in this same unity now, here in my own community, glorifying You Among the Nations, and Seeking You in All Generations! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
