Held in observance of the National Day of Prayer, the Community Prayer Luncheon unites local leaders, businesses, organizations and churches in a shared moment of faith and reflection.
This year's event will feature top 10 Billboard charting Christian singer-songwriter, Josh Wilson.
Since signing with Sparrow Records in 2006, Wilson has become a household name in contemporary Christian music, earning multiple Top 10 Billboard hits and sharing the stage with Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, Matthew West, and Casting Crowns. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, Wilson is known for his dynamic live performances, often looping and layering up to 20 instruments on stage.
The luncheon will also feature prayers led by distinguished community leaders, including Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer, NAACP President Milton Lee, and additional guests to be announced.

The community is invited to participate in a prayer gathering coordinated by Pastor Pete Lopez, of Those That Thirst Ministry, a Messianic Fellowship in Lubbock. Prayers will be lifted up by pastors and other community prayer leaders in Lubbock for our city, state and nation, our schools, first responders, as has been the custom in the past around the Gazebo. This observance will be held in Lufkin Texas at our downtown Civic Center. The program will include representation from 15 different churches in this community. This year's Prayer Event is outdoors in downtown Winnsboro at The Bowery, on Market Street. If it rains, we'll move it to the Jack Cross Pavilion at the City Park.
We have the 4th thru 6th grade choir for our opening. They'll sing the Nation Anthem and one or two more songs.
We also will erect Prayer Tents this year. Each tent will be themed to cover one of the focused areas of prayer: Business, Church, Government, Education, Family, Military, and Media/Arts/ Entertainment. All participants are welcome to stay after the MAIN EVENT to pray in private, in one or all of the areas of focused prayer.
