Please Join Us in Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are a strong tower, a refuge, Protecter and Defender. We cry out to You, asking for Your divine protection for the U.S. bases under attack today. Put Your hand of protection over the lives of all the soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and guardians who are stationed at these locations, as well as the lives of the contractors and allied civilian personnel who live and work on the base.
We ask that You would make every alert system and tool to intercept attacks successful – that no harm would be done. Give every service member clarity of mind to perform their duties, and for their rigorous training and preparation for such a time as this be fruitful.
May Your presence be made known in every bunker and bomb shelter, with prayers being lifted up by believers as they place their hope in You. For those who don’t yet know You as Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, that they would know You are their Savior and Protector. Well up strength, endurance, and courage in the hearts of our service members. Make steady the minds, decisions, and actions of the leaders on these bases, that their leadership would bring courage to those under their command.
May the Holy Spirit move with boldness through the Christian chaplains who are ministering to service members, both now during the attacks and in the days to come as they process the events of today and ponder the military assignments ahead.
Lord, pour out peace like a river on the families and loved ones of those who are deployed at these bases being attacked. As they cry out to You in prayer, we ask that they would experience peace in Your holy presence. Surround these family members with people who will support them, pray with them, and stand by them through these days. For the children of military members, guard their young and tender hearts and minds. When they cannot understand the details, but they know that fear is near, allow them be comforted by their parent or loved ones.
Give wisdom to our nation’s leaders; Lord, we ask that all the reports and information they are given be full of truth, that our leaders would speak and act according to Your truth. Give our leaders clarity and discernment, as their words and actions have massive immediate effect over the lives of the hundreds of thousands of service members, military families, and civilian support personnel, with ramifications reaching into every center of influence.
God, we turn to You in time of need. As we pray today from the safety of nation, guard our hearts from giving in to fear, and guard our mouths from speaking hearsay or repeating what we might not know to be truth. We stand firm and continue in prayer, trusting You always. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
