The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people to pray for the nation. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, and to mobilize Christians to intercede for America. At Calvary, we believe in the power of prayer, and the importance of community. We want to encourage our congregation to gather together next week to pray.
On Thursday, May 7, we will be opening the Youth Room (enter at the West entrance of the building - Door 15) all day, from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM, for our congregation and community members, to come and spend time in prayer. We will have two times of corporate worship; the first will be led by a Calvary Pastor and the second will be led by an Elder.
The morning prayer time will be from 9:00-10:00 AM, led by Pastor Ross Martin. The evening prayer will be from 7:00-8:00 PM, and led by a CBC Elder. For anyone that cannot make those set times, we encourage you to come throughout the day and pray for our nation. We will have prayer prompts available for those interested.
A call to prayer as we invite the local community to pray for our families, the church, and our nation. The evening will also include a time of worship.
The church sanctuary will also be available starting at 6pm for those who want to come early for a time of private prayer and reflection.

The community is invited to observe the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7 at 12 noon in front of the Oneida County Courthouse in Rhinelander. The event will last approximately 40 minutes and will be held rain or shine.
The theme for the 2026 National Day of Prayer is “Glorify God Among the Nations – Seeking Him in All Generations” and is based on 1 Chronicles 16:24: “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”
This prayer event is not political in nature. In addition to praying for our nation and its leadership, prayer will focus on praying for other areas of influence on our nation: the military, the media, business, education, the church and family.
