Our team of intercessors and leaders will hold a twenty-four-hour Prayer Call Vigil beginning at 12:00 a.m. on May 7th and concluding at midnight. At the top of each hour, a leader will guide us in fifteen minutes of fervent, focused prayer. Our prayer topics will cover the church, family, education, business, our nation and more. You can participate with us by calling the prayer line at (425)436-6200 with access code 377537#. Join us in this dedicated time of “watching and praying” as we create a spiritual wall of intercession over our nation. The closing watch begins at 11:45 to midnight.

We invite our churches, our county government and the community to pray together on the National Day of Prayer.  The idea is to be on the grounds of the historic 1917 Chesterfield County Courthouse so that government county employees can take their lunch break and join us.  The prayer service will begin at 12:26 and 12:52.  We believe this can be a powerful time to join those who believe in Jesus and those who are open to Him in our county government.

Every year, we pray and seek the Lord for the National Day of Prayer theme that will guide our year and unite the tens of thousands of prayer gatherings we host from coast to coast. This year on May 7, 2026, we will unite and pray as our new 2026 theme calls us to, “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations.”

Last year, our theme was inspired by a prayer that the apostle Paul prayed over the believers in Rome.

In 2026, our theme is inspired by a passionate prayer of Thanksgiving, prayed by King David in 1 Chronicles 16 after bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. This chapter records Israel celebrating the return of the Ark after being separated for 70 years earlier. While God was always watching over Israel and just a prayer away from them and King David, the Ark of the Covenant represented the presence of God having been constructed at the command of God and carried by the Levites with Moses as they wandered and waited to enter the Promised Land and eventually stolen from the tabernacle in Shiloh at their defeat in the battle in Ebenezer. I’ll pause here in its history for now. Thankfully, we have an entire year to unpack 365 days or more of all the prayers and prompts we can glean from this theme.

We are excited and delighted to share the 2026 National Day of Prayer theme with you, and ask that you commit to pray with us each week as God blesses us as we seek Him in Scripture and fervent prayer and glorifying Him through the 2026 National Day of Prayer theme that prompts us to, “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations.”

The Fluvanna Ruritan Club is hosting the National Day of Prayer at Fork Union Baptist Church on May 7th. The Fluvanna Ruritan Club will be helping to bring groups together across our county to publicly celebrate and participate in this spiritually significant day and unite Christians in prayer for our country and community. We would love for your congregation to be involved with us. This will not be a political rally, nor critical or any person, but prayerful and Biblical. Through sharing of scripture and singing of inspirational songs, participants will have opportunity to join in prayer for Front Royal, Warren County, Virginia, and America.

National Day of Prayer Goochland 

For those who were unable to attend a National Day of Prayer daytime event, Mizpah is offering this opportunity for our neighbors to come together in prayer for our nation during the evening. We will be following the National Day of Prayer suggestions for praying through the seven centers of influence in our nation, along with scripture and the singing of several hymns. We hope you will come out and join us as we seek God for forgiveness, mercy, and healing for America. 

The event is estimated to last between 30 and 45 minutes.

We invite anyone in the community to join us at Hatcher Church for a time to pray throughout the day, either outside, in the prayer garden by the Chapel or inside the Church Sanctuary. You can enter the Sanctuary from the ramp entrance at the back of the church. Enter the parking lot from Wilson Street.

Prayer Guides with printed prayers will be available to help you pray for families, churches, business and workplace, education and schools, the military, our government, plus arts, entertainment and media of today.

On this 250th birthday of the United States, come gather on the Louisa County courthouse lawn with community leaders, pastors, elected officials and local citizens to glorify our God for establishing this nation and to seek His mercy, healing and blessing on our great land. Lynchburg Community Prayer has sponsored the National Day of Prayer in downtown Lynchburg for several years. We are modifying the event this year by having one main speaker who will give a short devotional on the importance of prayer and then lead the attendees in praying for each of the seven pillars of our society. Live music will also be provided and our city mayor will be on hand to proclaim the NDP as a special day in our city.

The event will be held at the well publicized Monument Terrace, used weekly by our veterans every Friday at noon. City council and area leaders are invited.

Emmanuel's sanctuary will be open for prayer on Thursday, May 7th, from 5pm-6:30pm. Come in at your leisure and spend some time in prayer. Everyone is welcome.

At Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, 4392 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA (next to Princess Anne High School), the chapel will be open to the public for prayer continuously between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. You may enter at the portico door (facing PAHS) any time during those hours, pick up a prayer guide, proceed to the chapel, and enter His presence for a minute or a few hours as you are able, praying silently or aloud as is your custom.

The day-long spontaneous gathering will conclude with a community-wide time of group prayer  7:00-8:00 p.m.
