The sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Altavista will be open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm for those in the community and surrounding areas who wish to pray or light a prayer candle. Music, light refreshments, and prayer guides available.

There will be a Prayer & Praise gathering with Praise & Worship & United prayer in our Main Sanctuary from 12:00 - 1:00 pm on Thursday May 1st National Day of Prayer.
The National Day of Prayer (2025) will be at the Gleaning For The World Warehouse located at 7539 Stage Road, Concord VA 24538.
We will begin the morning events at 8:30 with a light breakfast. The event starts at 9:00.
Community Event- devotional time 7am-7:30 followed by “breakfast finger foods to go”. 8am-8pm prayer vigil in sanctuary and prayer room. All welcome to come and pray for whatever needs God lays on your heart!

The Well Coffeehouse is a non-denominational, standalone Christian coffeehouse located in a small strip mall in Portsmouth, VA. It's one of a few of this type of venue in the country. We have been at this location for over 12 years. There is live Christian music every Friday and Saturday night 6 to 9pm, 5 Bible studies throughout the week, filming of weekly TV shows for the GoodVue Network plus special events from time to time.

The City of Portsmouth's National Day of Prayer will take place on May 1, 2025 at 11:15 am with the Grove Church Music Ministry singing songs of praise. The prayer service will begin at 11:30 am with the Portsmouth Honor Guard presenting our colors and flags. Our mayor, Shannon Glover will read a proclamation declaring May 1, 2025 as a day of prayer in The City of Portsmouth.
