We would like you to participate in this day of prayer by sharing these thoughts with your congregations, family and friends.

Here are a couple of thoughts.

What if we skip lunch and at 12:00 NOON, WE ALL just stop what we are doing for couple of minutes and say a prayer. Ask the Lord to continue showing favor on our Country and forgive us for our sins.

The Lord’s Prayer will work.

Now this is an important part. Pull your phone out now and open your calendars and put this event in your calendars. It is the first Thursday of May every year.

ALLIANCE COMMUNITY CALL TO PRAYER

Join pastors, leaders, and representatives from congregations and community organizations throughout the Alliance area as we come together in observance of the National Day of Prayer. The Praise Team from the Alliance Christian Center will lead us in worship, followed by a proclamation shared by Alliance Mayor Andrew Grove. Participants will pray for the seven areas of focus: Government, Military, Media, Church, Business, Families, and Education. All are welcome as together we pray for our world, nation, and community.

This year's theme for the National Day of Prayer is "LIFT UP THE WORD - LIGHT UP THE WORLD" based on 2 Samuel 22:29-31: "For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him."

The 2024 Allen County Community Midday Observance of the National Day of Prayer takes place on Thursday, May 2nd from 11:45 am - 1 pm at Veteran's Memorial Civic Center in the Town Square, Lima, Ohio.

The Lima chapter of the National Day of Prayer Task Force has called believers to prayer on this day for more than 30 years and continues with passion to mobilize community prayer for our city, county, state and nation.

We invite you to join a diverse assembly of Lima and Allen County pastors and spiritual leaders as they, along with invited business leaders, educators, musicians and city and county civic leaders lead the area in prayer. Scriptures, songs, and quotes from founding fathers and presidents mingle with the prayers as we stand together and ask for God's direction and protection. WTGN Radio 97.7 FM and WTLW TV44 will broadcast the event live making it possible for a 10 county area to stand together and pray for their area as well. We truly exalt and magnify His name together!

Join us for The 2024 National Day of Prayer on the prayer deck at New Life Fellowship on Thursday, May 2 at 6:30pm. The theme for this year is “Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World.” The Bible reminds us to take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, from Ephesians 6:16-17.  

We dare not give evil a passing glance and then quickly look away, claiming our frailty or our desire to shield ourselves from pain and suffering.  instead, we must stand firm and confront evil head-on, glaring directly into its face while being filled with faith, abiding in Him and His Word abiding in our hearts.  Clothed in the full armor of God, we must pray and stand.  It is time to stop hiding away our light, we were not designed to play defense, adjusting our dimmer switch to that of a nightlight that merely guides our way through the darkness!  We are called to be a bright, shining light, exposing and dispelling the darkness!  It is time to run to the front-lines and reclaim all the ground the enemy has stolen in every area of influence, both in America and around the world.  Let us Stand, Pray, and Watch as our prayers become effectual for God's Glory. We must lift up the Word and Light up the World.

The Northwest Ohio Prayer Events will be celebrating its 35th Annual Prayer Event Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 at the Premier in Toledo, Ohio. Breakfast starts at 7:00 am, Dinner starts at 6:30 pm.
