National Day of Prayer gathering for local communities and cities. The Prayer event will be followed with a Java & Sweets fellowship.
There will be a National Day of Prayer gathering on Thursday, May 7 from 12:15-12:45PM on the steps of Pineville City Hall.
Since 1993, citizens of central Louisiana have been gathering on the steps of Pineville City Hall on the first Thursday in May, which is designated as the National Day of Prayer, for an informal time of prayer for our nation, state and city. A prayer guide will be distributed with the names of our local, state, and federal elected and appointed officials. Just as in the past 33 years, there is no organized program - prayers are offered by anyone who desires to pray. The group prayer time concludes by inviting elected officials and public employees to the center to pray for them before singing a closing hymn together.
Join us on the steps of Pineville City Hall at noon on May 7, 2026 as we pray for our city, state, and nation on the National Day of Prayer!

2026 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER Theme: Glorify God Among the Nations - Seeking Him in All Generations
"Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples." 1 Chronicles 16:24
This annual observance held on the first Thursday of May invites people of all faiths to pray for our beloved nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
Service note – a beautiful hour together hearing prayers for our city, our state, and our nation along with a moving message.

We have a request pending for a 75th National Day of Prayer (May 7, 2026) to be held on the back lawn of the Caddo Parrish Courthouse (under the oak trees facing Milam Street). This year's theme: "Glorifying God among the Nations" "Seeking Him in all Generations" 1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB.
Unique also to this year is the 250th United States of America Anniversary Freedom Celebrations happening across our country and President Trump's declaration for May 17th to be a "National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving" to "rededicate America as one nation under God."
Our hope is that God honoring Shreveport Religious, Government, Education, Family, Arts/Entertainment, Media, and Business leaders will unite as one voice on May 7 to formally rededicate our city back to God.
As part of The American Spiritual Heritage Project, (IFA) Intercessors for America, our city will be registered at the National Bible Museum displayed on a lit up map with thousands of other cities/states who rededicated their communities and towns back to God.
This event is tentative and in the process of getting all permission etc. to be official. Stay tuned for updates here.
