Be inspired by a powerful message from Minister A.C. Roper, a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General and former Birmingham Police Chief. An ordained minister with over 40 years of leadership in both military and civil service, Minister Roper will lead us in a Spirit-led call to stand in the gap with faith, humility, and courage.

This year’s National Day of Prayer theme, “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations,” is drawn from 1 Chronicles 16:24 and calls us to lift high God’s Name and faithfully seek Him across every generation.

We are honored to welcome Lieutenant General A.C. Roper, Ret., as our keynote speaker. His message of wisdom and inspiration will be a meaningful part of this year’s program.

Our featured speakers are Kaleb and Anna Dillard, Christian authors of “Who the Son Sets Free”, a husband and wife’s inspirational true account of January 6. We invite you to join us in the chapel on Thursday, May 7, at noon for a time of corporate prayer as we participate in the 75th National Day of Prayer and mark our nation’s 250th anniversary. This one-hour service will be facilitated by elders and assisted by musicians who will lead us in song. The chapel will be open all day for prayer.

Briarwood is a praying church, faithfully asking God to reach Birmingham to reach the world for Christ. We have an opportunity now, in view of recent events in America and around the world, to come together alongside Christians throughout our country in a renewed effort to seek God’s face.

We will observe NDP with Praise and Worship at our church First Baptist Church of Ensley (1508-19th Street Ensley, Birmingham, Alabama 35218).  We will start with dinner at 5:30 pm-6:45 pm and start service at 7:00 pm.  This will allow those coming from work to have dinner.  We look forward to Praying, Praising, and Worship as we culminate our NDP after a Full Month of April with Praise and Prayer during our One Hour Of Power Leading up to our NDP Service.  The Hour of Power has Been a Blessing! We have been Led by our Pastor, Dr. Tyree A. Anderson.  Service will be In-Person and Virtual.

Our event will honor the two themes of the National Day of Prayer:

1. To glorify God among the nations

2. That all generations would seek the Lord. 

This event is not a political event, it is an event which we simply as a community, unite together to pray to our Creator, the Lord God Almighty on behalf of our nation.  Our prayers will include repenting for the sins of our nation, and praying for our communities, our state and our nation  

Our keynote speaker will be Paul Hughes, who is the author of two books; Finishing Life Well and Finishing History Well.  Paul will be speaking about prayer and the glory of God.  You will not want to miss hearing Paul Hughes speak on this. 

We have a number of speakers lined up to pray over different topics.  Additionally, we will have Derek Crosby who will be leading us in worship and who will also be singing the National Anthem.  

It will be a great time together, seeking Him and praying that HE is not only glorified here in our country but also in all the nations of the world.  Please plan to join us at Railroad Park in Birmingham Alabama May 7th, at noon!

Location has shifted from what was publicized earlier.  No longer at The Cooper House, but will be held at First Baptist Church in Huntsville.  The church address is 600 Governor's Drive, but the correct entrance is on the back side of church across from Madison County Public Library on St. Clair Ave.  From that church parking lot, use  Entrance #7 and be directed to the room.

This year's National day of prayer in Livingston will involve a prayer walk to different sites. Make sure you have on comfortable walking shoes 👞 we are possessing the Land all for the kingdom of God and his glory...

The Annual National Day of Prayer Rally, will be on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 12:00PM  on the Blount County Courthouse Steps. Area churches, business leaders, and others will lead in prayer. This is a special time of prayer for the community. Immediately after the event, lunch will be provided at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, (across the street from the Courthouse).  In the case of inclement weather, the event will be at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 300 3rd Avenue East.  Everyone is invited to participate. 

Nondenominational prayer and praise gathering on Thursday, May 7 at 12 noon at the Lee County Courthouse Square.  All are welcome!
