Glory Story: A Step Forward in Faith

Pennsylvania Couple Refreshed and Refocused After NDP   When we put our faith in Christ and receive the Holy Spirit we begin a lifelong journey, but so often our focus shifts away from the Spirit and towards the things of the world. This is why a national day of prayer is important—believers put aside our usual habits to come together in agreement to refocus on the unseen blessings of the Lord, pressing toward the fullness of God! The National Day of Prayer broadcast was a time of joy for Sandi H., who lives in Westchester, Pennsylvania. She and her husband... Read more >>

Pain and Change: An Invitation to Prayer

Greetings Prayer Partners, In the past three weeks our hearts have been broken as our country has experienced horrific pain and loss. We have seen tears and tragedy, anger and injustice. We have also seen prayer and peaceful protests; people of all colors coming together to petition God and our nation for significant changes that we believe begin with the heart. We have spent the past weeks praying, listening and learning from hundreds of individuals, because the National Day of Prayer Task Force is committed to stay at the table and lean into conversations until we achieve sustainable Scriptural solutions... Remember and Teach the Children

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9 As we approach this weekend we want to say, “Happy Father’s Day!” We also want to turn back the calendar to make sure we address all the great Moms as well. Mother’s Day always follows the National Day of Prayer and is overshadowed by our praise reports of all that God did as we mobilized unified... Read more >>

Northeast NAL Serves the Lord with Power and Perseverance

When Mary Bruce first stepped into leadership with the National Day of Prayer, it was a bit unintentional—what she didn’t see was the Lord unfolding a powerful saga in her life. In 1993 the governor of Connecticut refused to sign a proclamation for the National Day of Prayer, and Mary Bruce was indignant. The Lord gave her strength and determination to mobilize efforts to push state legislators to sign a citation, the legislative version of a proclamation. After this powerful move from the Lord and Mary’s obedience, she was asked to be the Connecticut state coordinator. Her reaction? “I’m a... Read more >>

Search Me, Heal Me, Lead Me

Psalm 139: 23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. NASB Our dear NDP prayer partners, I am going to do something this week that I usually try to avoid in my messages. I am going to use the words “I” and “my” where I often us “we” and “our.” I always view the National Day of Prayer Task Force as a team, a squadron of prayer warriors battling against the enemy together, not “my”... Celebrate Pentecost with Us!

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.  Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because... Read more >>

Celebrating the Reach of God's Glory

As you are all well aware, the National Day of Prayer was established in public law in 1952 and observed annually on the First Thursday in May since 1988.  This year, regardless of the challenges that our nation has faced due to the covid-19 outbreak and resulting economic shutdown, Christians still observed the National Day of Prayer – but it looked very different from years past. Giving Thanks and Praising His Glorious Name

1 Chronicles 29: 11-13  Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. NAS “Thank you!” This has been my two word prayer over and over again since last week’s National Day of... Read more >>
