One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts!
Psalm 145:4 NKJV
As we step into the summer season, many of us are celebrating graduations, honoring fathers, preparing for Independence Day, and enjoying long, warm weekends with family and friends. Whether you’re gathering around a picnic table, spending time on the lake or at the beach, camping beneath the stars, traveling to visit loved ones, or simply enjoying the beauty of God’s creation in your own backyard, summer provides countless opportunities to slow down, reconnect, and reflect on His goodness. While our calendars may look different than they did leading up to the National Day of Prayer, our calling remains the same – to continue glorifying God among the nations and seeking Him in all generations.
The National Day of Prayer was never intended to be just a single day on the calendar, but rather a catalyst for a lifestyle of prayer and dependence upon the Lord every day of the year. As we move through these summer months, may we continue to seek Him first in every conversation, decision, challenge, and celebration. In a world filled with distractions competing for our attention, let us remain focused on the Jesus who is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Every family gathering, neighborhood barbecue, vacation, and holiday celebration presents an opportunity to reflect Christ, share His love, and point others toward the hope found in Him.
The summer months also provide a unique opportunity to intentionally invest in the next generation. As children and grandchildren are home from school and families spend more time together, may we be faithful to tell of God’s goodness, share His faithfulness, and model lives fully devoted to Him. The psalmist reminds us that one generation shall declare His works to another. What a privilege it is to participate in God’s ongoing story by encouraging those around us to know Him, trust Him, and walk with Him.
Pray With Me
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the many blessings You have poured out upon us. As we move beyond the National Day of Prayer and into the days of summer, help us to continue seeking You with all our hearts. May our lives bring glory to Your name in every season and circumstance. Lord, teach us to faithfully proclaim Your greatness to our families, our communities, and our nation. As Your Word declares in 1 Chronicles 16:24, help us to “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”
May every conversation, every gathering, and every opportunity You place before us become a testimony of Your goodness and grace. We ask that You would strengthen our faith, unite Your people in prayer, and use us to point others to Jesus. In His mighty name we pray, Amen.
Rejoicing in Hope,
