As I reflect on all the Lord has done throughout this past year, my heart is filled with gratitude and worship. Again and again, I return to the words of our 2026 National Day of Prayer theme verse: "Tell of His glory among the nations; His wonderful deeds among all the peoples." 1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB.
What a joy it has been to witness God’s people doing exactly that. Throughout this year, believers across America have continued to heed the call of our theme to Glorify God Among the Nations – Seeking Him in All Generations! I have watched churches gather in prayer, families grow stronger in faith, communities unite around the hope of Jesus, and countless individuals turn their hearts toward the Lord. Everywhere I travel, I am reminded that God is still at work; answering prayers, transforming lives, and drawing people to Himself.
That reality was beautifully reflected throughout this year’s 75th Observance of the National Day of Prayer. Millions of Americans gathered in churches, parks, schools, businesses, city halls, and public spaces to seek the Lord together. People from different backgrounds, denominations, generations, and communities were united by a common desire; to glorify God, seek Him, and pray for our nation.
This year also provided extraordinary opportunities to proclaim the importance of prayer and the hope of the Gospel from some of our nation’s most significant places. During this year’s Congressional Observance in Statuary Hall at the United States Capitol, co-hosted by Pastor Rob Pacienza of Coral Ridge Ministries, leaders including House Speaker Mike Johnson and HUD Secretary Scott Turner shared personal testimonies and encouragement, reminding those in attendance that faith remains essential to the strength and future of America. One of the most memorable moments of the day was welcoming The President’s Own United States Marine Band. As their music filled the historic halls of the Capitol and the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard presented our nation’s colors, we prayed for them and were reminded of both the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms and God’s faithfulness throughout our nation’s history.
The day in Washington continued with meaningful moments of remembrance at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and at Mount Vernon. Our staff had the privilege of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. At Mount Vernon, wreaths were laid at the tombs of George and Martha Washington, and each attendee placed a single white rose in remembrance of Gold Star families from the Revolutionary War to today. These moments reminded us that our freedoms came at a great cost, and that we must never forget those who served and sacrificed.
That truth is at the heart of our theme, Seeking Him in All Generations. Throughout Scripture, we see God’s faithfulness passed from one generation to the next. Abraham to Isaac. Moses to the children of Israel. David to Solomon. Paul to Timothy. God’s plan has always involved His people proclaiming His goodness to those who follow. Today, we have the privilege of continuing that sacred work. Every time a parent teaches a child to pray, a grandparent shares a testimony of God’s provision, or a church gathers young and old together in worship, the faithfulness of God is being passed forward. Every time one of our coordinators hosts a prayer gathering in their community, seeds are planted that may bear fruit for years, even generations to come.
All of this happens because of faithful partners like you. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement help make it possible to strengthen churches, equip leaders, support coordinators, and encourage communities across our nation. Together, we are investing in far more than a single event or a single year. We are investing in a legacy of prayer that carries the truth of God’s Word and the hope of the Gospel into future generations.
As we enter the final months of 2026, I am filled with both gratitude and expectation. Gratitude for all God has done, and expectation for all He has yet to do. While the challenges facing our nation remain significant, our confidence remains firmly anchored in the Lord. He has not changed. His promises have not failed. His purposes are still unfolding. And He continues to respond when His people humble themselves, seek His face, and call upon His name.
