Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done, His marvels and the judgments from His mouth, O seed of Israel His servant, Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations
1 Corinthians 16:10-15 NASB
As we prepare for The National Day of Prayer this year, we have the privilege of giving God glory for 75 Observances of The National Day of Prayer since it became a law in America. We also give God all the glory for the 250 years of His grace shedding and shining on America. Everything The National Day of Prayer Task Force has prayed, written, and done has been to ascribe the glory to God due His holy name and His greatness throughout every generation. It is in this moment that we remember through the covenant that God made with Israel that we, as followers of Jesus, dedicate our lives to be lived fully for the glory of God and to love Him with all our whole heart, soul, mind and strength.
As King David worshipped and danced bringing the ark of the covenant back and placing it in the tent he had prepared for it, Israel remembered God’s covenant with them and rededicated themselves to serving Him, the one and only true God, denouncing all idols and professing to the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
This year is a year of rededication for us as well. It is an opportunity to remember God’s greatness and the goodness He has poured out on us for 250 years and to take the time to rededicate ourselves in the new covenant of Jesus as our Lord and to give and live our lives fully for Him personally and hopefully together with our family. As this moment takes place in counties and communities all across America on May 7th, this personal rededication is a forerunner for the corporate rededication to be “One Nation Under God,” that will take place in Washington D.C. on May 17th. We pray that you will take the time to read and pray this simple, yet powerful Declaration of Rededication formed by Scripture, to prepare your heart and rededicate yourself personally to Jesus. Each of us, as children of God must make this decision and declaration for ourselves, no one can dedicate you to anything, it is a personal commitment and covenant we make in our heart with the Lord. Then we will unite our hearts and hands together, as the family of God, and take the stand to truly be “One Nation Under God” living under His authority and delighting God with our affection and actions.
In this 250th year of America’s independence from an earthly king, we come to You, King of Kings, to give You all glory, honor, and praise. In faith, we declare our dependence and dedication to You, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for You, alone are our Creator and Salvation. We come humbly to confess our sins and receive Your forgiveness. Today, in the presence of God and one another, we gather to pray, to celebrate, and to rededicate ourselves to You personally and in covenant as “One Nation Under God,” to love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, to love our neighbor as You have loved us, pray fervently, and tell of Your glory and goodness to all peoples as we abide in You and your Word abides in our hearts now, and forevermore. Amen!
Serving Him with gladness,
