1 Chronicles 29: 11-13 Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. NAS
“Thank you!” This has been my two word prayer over and over again since last week’s National Day of Prayer gatherings. I cannot stop thanking and praising God for all that He did to express His glory, and gather us together last week. Tuesday night found us on National Day of Prayer Task Force Facebook Live, as we prepared for the week in prayer and worship with Mandisa and her band. Her testimony of the power of prayer and their worship-filled songs turned our hearts towards heaven and our attention to Thursday’s National Day of Prayer. Thank you Mandisa, and thank you to everyone who watched and worshipped with us!
Thursday was filled with prayer gatherings hosted by our NDP coordinators virtually and in person. Prayer partners were able to join multiple events throughout the day this year. We have received stories of people who, “prayed their way through the day – and across the nation.” Thank you!
Thursday night brought our NDP National Observance, with prayers and pray-ers from across the generations and all across the nation joining together to, “Pray God’s Glory Across the Earth.” This two-hour broadcast was picked up in whole and part by Christian television and radio networks across America, and then picked up and broadcasted across the U.K. and Europe today. Glory to God and thanks to our friends and partners!
Prayer partners, pastors and leaders from this “NOW generation” rallied with us to gather the nation to pray and share the love and message of Jesus Christ. We will be sharing more information in the next weeks and months as the glory stories continue to come in. Please remember that you can share your story of how you prayed with us; how you experienced God’s glory; and how you will express it through prayer, care and sharing the gospel of grace with your neighbors, friends, family, co-workers and more. Email your glory story to us at [email protected] and tell us how this year’s National Day of Prayer touched your life and who you prayed for.
Our partners at DaySpring cards have created NDP “I prayed for you” e-cards as well as many other beautiful cards that you can email to people you are praying for and want to encourage. You can find these cards at https://www.dayspring.com/ecards and click on “see what’s new” on the lefthand sidebar.
Please join us in continuing to give God thanks and praise and glory for our NDP gatherings and KEEP PRAYING! Remember we pray EVERY day, not just on the First Thursday of May. Let’s pray together again right now.
Lord Jesus, thank You for bringing Your people together to pray together on the National Day of Prayer in the celebration and culmination of our prayers throughout the year. Thank You that we live in a nation that has a law for our President to call our nation to a day of prayer for our nation. Please prompt us to pray every day for America and all people and nations to know You as their Lord and Savior. Bring the people on the frontlines sustaining and preserving life as well as those in families, church, business, education, military, government, arts, entertainment and media. We continue to pray and watch Your glory fill the earth as the waters cover the sea.
Serving Him with Gladness,
P.S. If you missed any of our events or want to watch and pray again, you can find them on our website at Nationaldayofprayer.org
