Jehovah-Nissi

Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner.  He said, “For hands were lifted up to the throne of the Lord.”

Exodus 17:15-16

Every Thanksgiving my father, and his father before him, would read Psalm 100 to those who gathered. Please join with me in our family tradition:

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness: Come before Him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His;

We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise;

Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His

love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.

As we look towards the November 8th Presidential election and beyond, we know with certainty that we are entering into an intense dimension of spiritual warfare.

But we, as God’s people, also choose to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and …praise His name. And so we lift high the names of our God, who is Jehovah-Nissi.  The Lord Our Banner of Victory! King David declared, You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3 NKJV.  There is something about our heartfelt praise of who God is that releases His power to work on behalf of His people.

Below is an alphabetized list of His names to help us focus in praise. Please add more of His names to it as they come to mind:
