Cry Out America - Pray! Patriot Day 9-11

About Cry Out America and Patriot Day 9-11

On Patriot Day, 9-11, we will once again gather in venues across the nation to cry out to God in unified, public prayer for awakening and revival in America. Patriot Day is an annual observance held on the 11th of September, and Cry Out America invites people to pray in remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

This day was created in 2001 by a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush. The Joint Resolution proclaims that: "The President is requested to issue each year a proclamation calling on—

       1. State and local governments and the people of the United States to observe Patriot Day with appropriate programs and activities;

       2. All departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the United States and interested organizations and individuals to display the flag of the United States at halfstaff on Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States that occurred on September 11, 2001; and

       3. The people of the United States to observe a moment of silence on Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Cry Out America, is now an initiative of The National Day of Prayer Task Force, whose purpose is to mobilize unified public prayer for America. Our goal is to mobilize the Christian community across denominational boundaries to intercede for first responders, the family, church, education, media and entertainment, business, and government in our nation. Together we will cry out to God for greater influence in our culture and healing in our lives and land. We are counting on the involvement of the body of Christ across the nation as we pursue the goal of networking this growing prayer movement to create the strongest, most comprehensive net to catch the Last Days harvest.

Mobilizing Your Community to Cry Out
Our theme this year is Pray! Patriot Day 9-11. As Cry Out America on September 11th approaches, thousands of individuals, churches, and communities will be working to rally thousands of Christian’s to once again heed this call!

Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. That our loving God responds to His children’s earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history.
